Goal: To reduce deaths and disabilities resulting from heart attacks and cardiac arrest in North Carolina.
Objective 1 (Developmental):
By 2010, increase the proportion of adults who are aware of the early warning signs and symptoms of a heart attack (Source: BRFSS, Baseline: 10.6% 2003).
Objective 2 (Developmental):
By 2010, increase the proportion of adults who are aware of the importance of accessing rapid emergency care for heart attack and stroke by calling 911 (Source: BRFSS, Baseline 88.1% 2003).
